Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
PartnerAlarm ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
Information we collect
- Account information — the email address you use to sign in.
- Partner connections — who you've connected with as a trusted partner, and when those connections were made or dissolved.
- Your partner's phone number — stored locally on your device so you can reach them even without an internet connection. This is not uploaded to us, shared, or used for anything else.
- Alarm activity — timestamps of when alarms are triggered, sent, and acknowledged, and their delivery status. We do not collect location data unless you explicitly enable a feature that requests it.
- Push notification tokens — a device identifier used to deliver alerts to your partner's phone, via Apple's or Google's push notification services.
- Subscription information — your subscription status and renewal dates, managed through the App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details; that's handled entirely by Apple or Google.
- Anonymous website analytics — if you visit our marketing website, we log anonymous pageviews and button clicks tied to a random session identifier that resets when you close your browser tab. This is not linked to your identity and is not used for cross-site tracking.
How we use this information
We use your information solely to operate PartnerAlarm: to authenticate your account, connect you with your chosen partner, deliver alarm notifications, and manage your subscription. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Apple and Google — for push notification delivery and subscription billing.
- Our infrastructure providers — including our database, hosting, email, and push notification providers. They process data only on our behalf, under data processing agreements (DPAs), and may not use it for their own purposes.
- RevenueCat — processes your purchase and subscription data, and a user identifier linked to your account, on our behalf under a data processing agreement, to manage your subscriptions and in-app purchases. It is not used for advertising, and we do not sell your data to it.
We do not sell your data, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
International data transfers
We process and store your data primarily within the European Economic Area (EEA) — our database is hosted in the EU, in Frankfurt, Germany.
Some data is processed outside the EEA — specifically through Apple and Google (for push notifications and payments), RevenueCat (a US-based subscription-management provider), and some of our infrastructure providers.
Where data is transferred outside the EEA, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the providers' own GDPR-compliant transfer mechanisms.
Data retention
We retain your account and alarm history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records for legal or security purposes.
Certain records — such as payment and subscription records — are kept for the legally required period of 7 years for tax purposes. Other personal data is deleted within a reasonable period after you delete your account.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (the right to "be forgotten").
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data.
- Objection — object to certain processing of your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format, or have it transferred to another service.
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you believe we've mishandled your data.
To exercise any of these rights, email us using the details below. We respond to requests within 30 days. For complex or multiple requests, this may extend to 60 days, and we'll let you know.
Children's privacy
PartnerAlarm is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
