Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 28 July 2026

PartnerAlarm is not a substitute for emergency services. In any life-threatening situation, always call 112 (or your local emergency number) first. PartnerAlarm sends a best-effort notification to a partner you have chosen. We do not contact emergency services, police, medical professionals, or fire services on your behalf. Alarm delivery is not guaranteed.

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using PartnerAlarm, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Who we are

PartnerAlarm is operated by Brent Moraal h/o PartnerAlarm, established in Grootebroek, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce / KvK no. 42117950). In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean PartnerAlarm, and "you" means you as the user. A "consumer" is a user acting for private purposes, outside a trade or profession.

What PartnerAlarm does

PartnerAlarm lets you send a priority alert to a partner you've connected with. Delivery depends on factors outside our control, including your partner's device being powered on, connected to the internet, and having notifications enabled. We do not guarantee delivery or response time.

Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

Subscriptions and billing

Sending alarms requires an active subscription, billed monthly or annually through the App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your App Store or Google Play account settings before the renewal date. Receiving alarms is always free and does not require a subscription.

Right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off)

If you're a consumer, you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period to withdraw from a digital purchase without giving a reason. Because subscriptions and the one-time product are bought through the App Store or Google Play, purchases, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms — so a refund request usually goes through them.

When you buy, you get immediate access to the app (digital content). By starting to use it within the cooling-off period, you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once delivery has begun. If you think you're entitled to withdraw, email us at support@partneralarm.com and we'll help where we can.

Duration and cancellation

Auto-renewing subscriptions run for an open-ended period and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. As a consumer, you can always cancel an open-ended subscription with no more than one month's notice.

The one-time yearly product is a fixed term: it gives you a year of access and then simply ends. There's nothing to cancel and it does not renew automatically.

Price changes

We may adjust our prices. If we change the price of a subscription you hold, we'll let you know in advance (Apple and Google also notify you), and you're free to cancel before the new price takes effect if you don't agree.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use PartnerAlarm to send false alarms, harass another person, or use the service for any purpose other than genuine personal safety. Deliberate misuse — including sending false alarms — may result in immediate account termination. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the service at our sole discretion.

No delivery guarantee

PartnerAlarm sends alarm notifications on a best-effort basis. Delivery depends on factors outside our control, including but not limited to: your partner's device being powered on and connected to the internet, notification permissions being enabled, Do Not Disturb settings, battery optimization settings, network availability, and third-party delivery infrastructure (Apple APNs, Google FCM, Firebase). We make no guarantee — express or implied — that any alarm will be delivered, received, or acted upon within any particular time frame or at all.

Disclaimers

PartnerAlarm is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We expressly disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use the app at your own risk. PartnerAlarm should never be your sole means of summoning help in an emergency.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PartnerAlarm, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages whatsoever — including but not limited to personal injury, death, property damage, or financial loss — arising from: (a) your use of or inability to use PartnerAlarm; (b) any failure, delay, or interruption in alarm delivery; (c) any action or inaction by your connected partner; or (d) reliance on PartnerAlarm as a substitute for emergency services. This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability and even if PartnerAlarm has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Intellectual property

PartnerAlarm — including its software, design, branding, and content — is our intellectual property and remains ours. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or any part of it, except where the law expressly allows.

Complaints

If something's wrong, we want to hear it. Email us at support@partneralarm.com with a clear description of the problem, and we'll respond within a reasonable period and do our best to put it right.

Force majeure

We're not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control — for example power, internet, or network outages, failures at third-party providers (such as Apple, Google, or Firebase), natural disasters, strikes, or government measures. While such a situation continues, the affected obligations are paused.

Termination

You may stop using PartnerAlarm and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is substantial, we'll flag it, and as a consumer you may cancel if you don't accept it. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Severability

If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in force. We'll replace any invalid part with a valid one that stays as close as possible to the original intent.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in the Netherlands.
